Our Garden Stones are individually hand-crafted using quality
stained glass pieces that are set in our own special,
durable concrete mixture. Fully weather-proof, they only need protection from
freezing and thawing by either
removing them to a covered area or by standing them on
end.
The free-form designs have a natural looking background that blends very well into a natural setting. When this background becomes wet, it becomes even more dramatic looking and the strained glass seems to almost leap from the stone.
As can be seen from our pictures, our garden stones are perfect anywhere outdoors. They are meant to be placed in the soil at ground level. If you have poor drainage, dig your hole about 1/2" deeper than the garden stone and fill this hole with 1/2" of sand to help promote drainage.
If you wish to clean the stones (beyond what is done by Mother Nature!), just use a soft cloth or a "whish" of your garden hose. Never use any harsh or abrasive material -- anything you use on your windows will do.
Some people enjoy the look of moss on their garden stones. It is a natural process that will appear with age and proper moisture conditions. It can be hastened by painting the garden stone with yogurt and keeping the stone moist and shaded until the moss develops. The moss does not grow on the glass, so this further enhances the glass design.
